Einstein had dropped out of high school due to boredom and “the tedious regimentation and unimaginative spirit of the school.” Once his family decided to move from his hometown of Munich, Germany to Milan, Italy, he decided to drop out of secondary school and attend the Swiss Polytechnic Institute in Zurich. Einstein experimented with the movement of randomly distributed particles in the fluid, an experiment that was successful and which led him to write an important article on 20th century physics. His second paper was about the photoelectric effect, which includes the hypothesis regarding the nature of light. Einstein's third paper was revolutionary. His article was about the theory of relativity. The theory of relativity, in short, was the measurement of time and space. At the age of 12 Edison convinced his parents to let him take a job. He began selling newspapers and devoted his free time to experimenting with printing presses and electrical and mechanical devices. In 1879 Edison had invented the electric light bulb. The electric light bulb was Edison's most important and revolutionary invention. Edison went on to invent and develop an electrical developing system, a sound recording device, and a motion picture projector. This shows that a child deemed “mentally ill” due to his or her lack of effort in class is really just a title. Edison went on to demonstrate that he was anything but mentally ill, and in fact a pure genius. The country's greatest statesman, Benjamin Franklin, dropped out of school.
