With this curiosity I worked on a project during my senior year titled "Optimization of surface roughness, material removal rate and cutting forces in turning Al356.2 alloy using the Taguchi technique". The design was emphasized by the elimination of repetitive experiments, the effective speed of material removal in times optimized for the alloy. In this project, our team worked from preparing the alloy and molding it into a cylindrical rod to using a center lathe to turn the metal rod. Through this project, I gained real-time experience of producing a product and collecting data related to various cutting parameters and analyzing the data using MINITAB 17 software which in turn led me to learn about this application .
