International travel can be easy or difficult depending on how you do it. After much trial and error, I have some tips for being safe, efficient and, of course, comfortable while on the move. If you're heading abroad, for the love of all that is holy and good, don't pack more than £50 in your suitcase, no matter how long you're staying. You'll be grateful for it later (as will the people around you) when you're lugging your bag into an airport at 6 a.m. and lugging it through hordes of sweaty tourists or lugging it onto a train with limited space. Another good reason not to pack your suitcase while traveling is to leave room for clothes and gifts suitable for the flight/return home. If you are a fashion conscious person and like me you like to look good and have a variety of outfits when you visit new places, then welcome to the article. Get an original essay Flattering and quite comfortable; Able to alternate with other items of clothing. And always dress according to the climate and weather. Looking good and not being unkempt is quite important if you are in a foreign place. Your appearance can convey a message about the type of person you are and become an element of your personal confidence. For example: if you dress like a tourist, (i.e.: fitness clothing, sports shoes, a t-shirt/hat with the name of your destination that you received at the airport, a strange fanny pack under the t-shirt that doesn't fool anyone... ) you are infinitely more likely to be exploited. Not only will you become a bigger target for criminals and pickpockets that exist in every city, but also for restaurants, shops, etc. Dressing appropriately also gives some respect to the place and people around you who are at the home you are visiting. Give a little respect and you will get some in return. I've visited England, Italy and Canada and they all have one thing in common... most people out and about aren't wearing souvenir t-shirts or sweatpants. In fact, many people compared to the average American casual outings, look quite decent; nice jacket, pants, shoes, etc. Italy is particularly attentive to the outfit. Even to pop to the corner store, you never see anyone in tracksuits; always nice shoes, nice clean pants and a trendy top or shirt...even the men have matching satchels. England is more of the same… more umbrellas, though. Montreal is also the same; so close but culturally almost a world apart. If you are a novice traveler and want to immerse yourself in the diverse and amazing world we live in, I recommend starting your trip in New York City. If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere… that's true when it comes to exploring foreign places. I have visited New York many times and I believe it has given me an advantage when it comes to my travels abroad. I call it the "New York mentality." Much of personal safety is common sense; know your route, charge your phone and if a situation seems wrong, it probably is. Don't listen to the manners that have been instilled in you, just do everything you can to escape. When it comes to wallet security, simply having a reliable bag or purse will do the trick. Try not to keep your wallet in your pocket: Especially on busy sidewalks in New York and around the world, pickpockets will look for vulnerable pockets and bags to steal. I recommend bringing a small backpack or shoulder bag with you to keep your essential items inside: umbrella, charger, water bottle and wallet....
