In my opinion, one of the most important leaders in the world, and especially in America, is the famous Nelson Mandela. Nelson Mandela was a South African politician and activist who fought against racism and injustice and who, after facing struggles including 27 years in prison, became the leader of the first government that put an end to the problems he fought for. One of the main reasons why I consider Mandela to be an exemplary leader is his background. Not most people know what they went through before becoming a leader. Say no to plagiarism. Get Original Essay As a child, he had to deal with the death of his father, someone who had been an important part of his life. All this, however, became the basis of his formation as a person, learning ethics and justice with his uncle. After that, he was about to be forced into marriage, so he decided to abandon all his relatives and his tribe members, and this was something that allowed him to meet his best friend and his future wife. Another important reason that makes Mandela so important is his leadership ability. Many people who had known Mandela all his life said that leadership was something they noticed in Mandela soon after meeting him. Persuasiveness, self-confidence, courage, integrity, empathy and ability to work were just some of their virtues. He made an impact on people and conveyed his message very clearly and powerfully. The last reason I can state to explain Mandela's important role on this earth is his ability to make his dreams come true. For years he had tried to make South Africa a better place, joining anti-oppression movements and growing greatly through them. This led to joining groups opposed to government decisions, helping those who challenged the regime; eventually becoming the leader of the movement. This prompted the government to put him in prison twice, after which he did not hesitate to continue his movement, finally gaining leadership of the entire country, becoming South Africa's first black head of state. Clearly it was, and continues to be. it is a great example of how people have to fight for their dreams and beliefs. The path is not always easy and there will be many obstacles; but with hard work and perseverance you can achieve anything.
