Topic > An account of a bad day

All I heard was a huge, loud boom. While all my friends rushed to see what had happened, at least I wasn't worried that something bad had happened. My car, which was just parked outside my friend's house, was totaled. The rear bumper completely blown out, the police car lights going out, more pieces of my car on the ground, it was like someone decided to demolish my car. I will never travel that stretch of road without having an exact image of what could be one of the worst days of my life. Say no to plagiarism. My best friend and I decided to hang out with a couple of our friends before we all left for college. Little did I know it would be one of the worst days of my life. We were all together having fun, turning up the music, singing at the top of our lungs and dancing the night away. I was the one who had taken us to our friend's house; however, I didn't tell my parents exactly where I was going. As we all know, parents want to know exactly what and where their child will be and/or do. I happened to use the bathroom and as soon as I came out one of our friends shouted, “Oh my God! Someone's car is completely destroyed!” No one described what the car looked like and no one really knew what my car looked like. While I was in the bathroom, however, I heard something loud; I didn't think anything of it. I didn't think anything bad had happened. My friend asked me if I had any chapstick and I said, "Yes, it's in my car, come with me and we'll get it." We go down the stairs and out the door and suddenly we see policemen and police cars with their lights on all over the street. My friend and I were wondering what happened because they were all very close to my car. My heart dropped to my stomach, pounding and shaking. I started to feel this sense of anxiety and nervousness. As we approach the back of my car, where the cops were, I see that the entire back of my car has been completely torn off. At this point, I didn't know what or how to handle this situation, but I burst into tears. Before that night I had never found myself in a situation like that and I didn't know how to react. I was hyperventilating to the point I couldn't even talk to the cops. Walking in circles, trying to figure out what to do, I texted and called a couple of my friends to give me advice on what I should do. In the end, my decision was all that mattered. The biggest worry I had was my parents. I hadn't told them beforehand that I was going out with a couple of friends or where I would be staying. At this point the only thoughts running through my head were: my parents will lose all their faith in me, I will never be able to go out again and the simple fact that my car cannot be repaired. Soon after we had been out for a while, all the other people who were in the house came out to see what had happened. They were all trying to help me find out how it happened. The police then asked me whose car it was, so of course I had to go and talk to them. They asked me for all my information, information about my car, etc. Then I saw this guy there with the police and as soon as the police stopped asking me questions he started saying, "I'm so sorry, I'm really sorry." sorry" repeatedly to the point that I just wanted him to stop talking because I knew that he was the cause of this accident. I was so upset that I wanted to know how it happened and everything, 39(3), 621-651.
