I only read the books needed for class and even then I usually didn't finish them. Reading has never been something I enjoyed. When I got to high school, I started reading books for fun a little more than before. I have always been a fan of Harry Potter but since I didn't like reading I only watched the films. I remember reading those books and really enjoying them. My senior year was also a time in my reading history that I remember well. As a class we were reading The Great Gatsby in time to see the film for the midnight premiere. Every day we were told to read to a certain page, no further. At first I didn't like the book, just like any other book I was forced to read in school. But one evening I was reading and the book became so interesting to me that I couldn't put it down. This was the first book in a long time that I enjoyed reading and that was assigned to me. After the third year, I went back to my old way of not reading books. My senior year I took AP English, so that required a lot of books. Thinking back to that year of school, I remember finishing maybe one or two of those books. Even though I didn't read all those books, I still got a good grade in class. One thing I learned from that lesson about not reading all the books is that reading summaries isn't good enough because they leave out everything else
