The ego of the mind contains both an angel and a devil. Every human being has an immature and mature characteristic, which is why his mind constantly debates about good and bad. “Lord of the Flies,” by William Golding, is a fictional story about the lives of English school children trying to survive on an island. Each of these guys has their own personality; whether childish, mature, or both. William Golding uses the boys, Ralph, Jack, and Piggy, as symbols to represent the three aspects of the ego.
