Television began to create crime shows (Surette, 2015). People most of the time believe what they hear or see, so what the media portrays can influence someone's reality. The media has four types of content that can influence the criminal justice system and they are: advertising, news, entertainment and infotainment (Surette, 2015). This media content has influenced our society and criminal justice system. Advertising: shows products, campaigns and a low content of violence (Surette, 2015). Entertainment: It is where the media does not show any reality or real events (Surette, 2015). It's like you can leave reality for a while, but there are some who will never come back. Entertainment makes the viewing audience more interesting (Logues, 2015). News: what happens in the world is true and current.
