Going to prison completely changes your life, during your sentence and after you are released. Prisoners coming out of prison are dangerous and somewhat scary to the public, which could cause companies not to hire people who have been in prison due to their lack of trust, making ex-prisoners homeless. A 2007 study shows unemployment rates among ex-offenders: “In 2007, the National Institute of Justice found that 60 percent of ex-felons remain unemployed one year after release. Other studies have shown that more than 30% of released criminals live in homeless shelters because they cannot find housing; and these are the lucky ones. Many camp on the streets."
