Starting as a young woman until death, these are the things single women find important: Rootedness (in home, neighborhood, career, finances, and social life) , friendships (maintaining close female friendships and even forming new friendships), basic needs (daily contact, security, physical contact, rituals, better use of free time), sexual feelings (recognizing them, numbing them, transitioning between them), children and other forms of education (making a decision about children, nurturing oneself and others and being accurate), pain (accepting ambiguity, losing dreams, separating one's pain from that of the family), making peace with parents (teaching them to treating yourself like an adult, solving old problems, accepting your positive traits and ignoring the rest) and Old Age (having a positive self-image, preparing financially for old age, maintaining friendships, considering life options, preparing a living will for one's death/burial ) (Lewis and Luna).
