There are many ways to study the Bible, and biblical hermeneutics is one way, but this is also broken down into different study styles. There is the most consistent use of the Bible study method known as the historical-grammatical-lexical method, but there are many others. Some are the allegorical method, Reformation era hermeneutics, early church fathers hermeneutics, post-Reformation Protestant hermeneutics, and sociological hermeneutics. There are many more, but these are the ones we will focus on in this article. Biblical hermeneutics is the study of principles of interpretation regarding the books of the Bible. It is part of the broader field of hermeneutics which involves the study of the principles of the text and includes all forms of communication. During lectures one may realize that hermeneutics can be confusing and difficult at first, but when someone actually analyzes each method, the confusion continues but can be understood much better.
