In recent years, rap and all other types of musical artists have used music to express points of view, opinions and feelings in their songs. From their texts, you will have a little understanding of what they see and feel about society. Artists should be happy because this is a country with free speech and they can make any kind of music to express themselves. Even though there are voices saying that rap music should be censored and has influenced the minds of young people, but is rap music affecting young people negatively? There is a poll from the United States that 48% of Americans think popular music should be heavily regulated and 59% of Americans would like to limit violence in music. However, there were no studies providing evidence of a cause-and-effect relationship between violence, sex, and behavioral effects. Even if there are studios, the artist and composer will not worry about regulations and/or rules. Violence in rap music thus arises from this ignorance. Rap is defined as a form of popular music developed primarily in urban African-American communities and characterized by spoken or sung rhyming lyrics with syncopated, repetitive rhythmic accompaniment. In the early 1990s, rap music was starting to become popular and there were two different groups of rappers: East and West Coast. The wars between these two groups weren't fully apparent until East Coast rappers started getting more publicity. The West Coast rappers were upset and jealous, so they started making fun of the East Coast rappers through their music. East Coast rappers got revenge on West Coast rappers and the war continued until one day there were rumors that the other coast had gone too far. However, West Coast rapper Tupac Shakur had a personal feud with East Coast rapper The Notorious B.I.G. In one of Tupac's songs, he proclaimed that he slept with Biggie's wife and Notorious BIG retaliated by saying "stupid mess of niggas with Big Poppa, motherfuckers get roasted if you fuck with B.".
