Peer pressure plays a huge role in how teenagers focus in school. Although peer pressure has many negative effects on young adults, it has also been shown to affect adolescents in positive ways. Many teenagers develop friends who influence them in ways that benefit them. One way young adults are positively affected by peer pressure is how they study. Teens who find friends who only want the best for them may begin to put more effort into their schoolwork. For example, if a person's friend gets good grades in school and studies outside of school, it will push that person to work even harder to improve their academic performance. Unfortunately, many teenagers no longer care about academic performance. This is when peer pressure comes into effect. A person who fails every test may befriend a person who gets all A's. As a result, this person sees that getting good grades can be as good as failing every test. Academic performance plays a huge role in the rest of a person's life. Teens need to realize that improving their academic performance can also benefit how other teens view them
