Therefore, this may be Cooper's opportunity to demonstrate his loyalty to WorldCom or take leadership by working with upper management levels to resolve the internal problem. According to Dr. Kant, the exchange of our feelings is how we communicate. Dr. Kant also illuminated the importance of truth. Without the truth, we would only exchange bad information, misstatements, outright lies, and our conversation would have no purpose. At some point in the process of building and developing WorldCom, the truth was absent at all levels of management. Cynthia Cooper is one of WorldCom's managers; therefore, he should have been more involved and aware of the current situation from the beginning. So, is doing the right thing the right thing to do or is it an ethical thing to do? For example, making the problem public, which is the right thing to do, but is it ethical that many careers and lives are ruined as a result of doing the right thing? Perhaps Cooper should have considered the utilitarian approach when evaluating this dilemma. Cooper would have to compare the possible positive and negative outcomes of each action. He thought he was doing an honest deed, but it ended up bankrupting the company and many lives
