Advertising is everywhere around us and there is no way to escape it. Every time you turn there is an advertisement for the weather which you may or may not see. When you turn on the TV there is advertising, there are billboards almost everywhere you look, social media, the internet, newspapers and magazines. Advertising is found almost everywhere you look. Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter spend billions of dollars on advertising. When you scroll down your new feed you may see an ad for Finishline or a credit card company. For example, the other day I was on Facebook and saw an ad from Nordstorm for some shoes, I clicked on it and immediately bought the shoes. This is how companies deceive you. Tao-te Ching asks in his reading: “Do you want to improve the world? I don't think it can be done” (209). What he means by this is that society and the world are already so messed up that nothing can be done to change them. I agree with him 100% on this. Advertising has ruined the minds of human beings and I don't think it's possible to do that. Not only advertising has an effect....
