Strategic Management and Strategic Competitiveness The Ford Motor Company was founded in Detroit, Michigan by a boy named Henry Ford. Ford has been making vehicles in America since 1903. Ford has gone through ups and downs during all the recessions, but has always managed to come out on top. Ford Motor Company primarily sells automobiles and commercial vehicles worldwide. Ford also owns and operates Lincoln, a line of luxury vehicles from the Ford Motor Company. Ford also owns many stakes in other automotive companies, which has led to their success in other countries. Evaluate the impact of globalization and technological changes on the society being researched. Ford Motor Company offers vehicles and services to consumers at the best available rate. Today the technology has become more sophisticated, allowing the Ford Motor Company to make components outside of America and produce them at a low rate. This has changed the way most manufacturing companies manage to stay in business. Some believe that technology is taking over and pushing the human race out of the workforce. This is true in many ways, but today humans cannot keep up with the flow of goods and demands. During the 2008 financial crisis all four major competitors needed a government buyout. Ford Motor Company was the only one to not accept the acquisition because it believed it did not need help. In 2008 Ford sold its other business ventures Jaguar and Range Rover to another competitor to help them reboot their new business goals. Globalization is a process where it allows for mixing and collaboration from the consumer to businesses, government and benefits internationally. Globalization impacts many things, including the environment, economic development, paper, and the workers and employees you hire. The union is critical because Ford is a union workforce and that means the union will say whether the working conditions are safe or not. The last group is the organizational stakeholders and this is also important because without employees, managers and non-managers the company will not be as successful as it is now. Conclusion During this assignment I learned a lot about how Ford Motor Company started and how it operates today. . Ford has changed its mission over the years, as have many other companies. Although Ford changed his vision, he followed it every time and was successful every time. Ford held their ground through the Great Depression and the financial crisis of 2008. This showed me that the company believed in itself in not getting help from the government unlike other companies.
