With this essay I will compare the way propaganda was used during the two world wars, what was their purpose and the audience they addressed and how they influenced civilian and military morals and more it is important to highlight the way poster art and design was used to influence and properly impress ideas and morals on viewers. I will also compare how different design techniques were used in each war and how effective or ineffective they were in each case and what their common attributes were and how they were different. If someone were to decide on the deadliest wars in human history the conclusion would be easy, the two world wars had a combined death toll exceeding 80 million, with the Second World War being the deadliest of the two due to development of more advanced weapons of war such as rockets and, finally, the atomic bomb gave the human race a greater arsenal of destruction. Politics was a major factor in the initiation of wars, which is why governments of the time required a method to influence their citizens to support a political party such as the Nazi Party in Germany during World War II or to support a military campaign or any other action they desired, to achieve this they employed the help of a tool called propaganda. In most cases propaganda is a political tool by which the propagandist attempts to communicate ideas and information to recipients in order to influence their actions and decisions and further the goals of the original propagandist. Propaganda is designed in a rather sinister way where it makes the persuaded believe that it is satisfying their needs but obviously benefits the persuader more and in most cases this happens without the immediate knowledge of the persuaded… middle of the paper. .....the type of messages that were meant to be communicated to the target audience, however the general layout and design of posters have evolved in the same way as any other art form over time, both due to new methods of communication , films for example, or due to the development of new artistic movements.
