Many people know that countries like Africa are poor, thinking that it is the number one cause of hunger. “Poverty: Poor people who do not have the resources, tools, or money needed to consistently grow and purchase food.” (Cited) Other causes of hunger include armed conflicts that prevent most people in a country from having access to food. Many children and families suffer because they live in poverty. Others are paid only 1.25 per day for work, so they cannot buy adequate food. One result is that many children and elderly people suffer from undernourished food.
