Topic > Chemical Engineering Statement of Purpose - 696

Ever since I began studying science and mathematics at all levels of education I have always had an interest in producing useful materials. In today's growing turmoil; In a world full of global warming and dwindling resources, questions often come to mind like, "Can we create a more efficient, more durable, renewable resource that will overshadow fossil fuels and have less of an impact on our environment?" Until now, I have not found a solution to these questions and answering these questions is a personal aspiration of mine that I intend to fulfill by pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering and will ultimately contribute to the field in my own unique way. The debate on sustainable energy fascinates me, having recently learned from personal research I have understood what an authoritative role chemists and chemical engineers play in the sector today and how, by working as a team, they contribute to a better future for the world. whole world. However, one of the main reasons that pushed me so far to want to study chemical engineering is a book I read, “Beyond the Molecular Frontier: Challenges for Chemistry and Chemical Engineering”. While reading this book, I had solidified my understanding of what chemical engineering is. Furthermore, one of the main processes mentioned was polymerisation and it is something I already study at Chemistry A level, it is something that not only interests me but is a personal professional aspiration of mine. Reading this book has given me the determination to be the person who helps improve the future of the industry and provides an answer to the questions I always ask myself while studying this degree. I'm currently studying A-levels in Phy...... middle of paper....... good. I also took part in the Midlands Business Enterprise challenge, which I along with 5 other students won and came second in the national finals. Our business was based on the importance of recycling and how we can improve and promote the issue in public. My team working skills have been greatly improved, along with my ability to communicate and contribute my ideas to a team of people. As a result, I feel like a much more capable public speaker and willingly participate in class debates and various school presentations. Which I believe will be important factors that will give me an advantage despite being a chemical engineer. My A Level studies have given me the foundation I need to study Chemical Engineering and I aspire to make an impact on the environment and ensure sustainability for future generations through studying Chemical Engineering.
