I am looking forward to becoming a social worker and helping others in a clinical or counseling setting because I would like to end people's suffering with positive change. I need to know more about different theories and their relevance in contemporary social work. Knowing other theories would help me understand and improve my personal theory when the limitations of childhood and past family experiences become apparent in a case. This theory course will be useful to explore the multiple theories in depth as I have not yet learned them thoroughly. Additionally, I am interested in clinical work and would like to pursue a career in a clinical setting after obtaining my master's degree in social sciences.
