Second, immigrants are taking jobs in the United States, but they are taking jobs that Americans don't want because of the foreign pay and hard work. Most immigrants work in factories, small businesses or on farms. One thing I disagree with is that illegal immigrants have positive and negative effects on the economy and the country. For example, we mostly hear in the news that some illegal immigrants commit a crime and do not apply for a visa. Sometimes they also provide other Social Security numbers. Illegal immigrants, some not all, sometimes bring drugs into the United States, which I think is the most dangerous thing they can do other than kill. One of the problems in today's society is that people see all immigrants as workers. People tend to believe that immigrants “threaten” American life by causing unemployment. Employers think they are doing us a great favor by hiring immigrants for lower wages and not hiring US-born people because we don't like being worked under the state minimum wage law
