In this case, I would not participate in waving a Confederate flag because to me it holds no symbolism. If I had a relative who served in the Confederate Army, I would proudly fly them to honor them. I would also fly the flag if the state outlawed it because I would like to protest my right to fly the flag that was taken from me. In this case, I would subject myself to fines, public humiliation, and even arrest for the Confederate flag; I would ultimately surrender to the law if violence fell upon me because I'm a chicken when it comes to pain. However that is a different story because otherwise I would be breaking the law and the act would not be considered civil
