Certification requirements for a reflexologist vary from state to state, and there are no licensing laws requiring special training in reflexology. The American Reflexology Certification Board is “an independent testing agency for the field of reflexology” (ARCB); established a national educational standard that requires a written and practical exam for certification. The training course consists of 110 hours of practical training: 40 hours of history and theory of reflexology, 55 hours of anatomy and physiology, 5 hours of ethics and company standards, followed by 10 hours of supervised practice.
