Lady Macbeth slowly begins to separate from the cruel plans Macbeth makes and has a more passive tone in her decisions as Macbeth's character changes from loyal and irresolute to authoritarian and dangerous . Her influence is no longer needed or accepted and she retreats into the background as Macbeth begins to refer to her by lesser names such as "dearest Chuck" (3.2.49). From this transition of power it is evident that Macbeth has completely taken control and conformed to the general social status of the time. Further clashes also occur when Lady Macbeth tells her husband not to kill Banquo: "You must leave this" (3.2.38) she says, but he does so anyway. Macbeth has surpassed every point of humanity, but there is nothing Lady Macbeth can do, and all the while her remorse grows.
