Imagine if Alexander had failed to conquer Persia, the Greeks and the rest of the ancient world would speak a form of the Persian language. Greek ideas and values would be lost forever. Democracy as we know it began in Greece. If Persian culture had spread, democracy would have been cast aside and we could have had powerful despots ruling the world. Alexander's intellect opened the doors to science, mathematics, architecture and literature, the world is as it is today. Alexander was a true leader and inspired his men to go further than any man of that time had ever gone before. Even though Alexander died at the young age of thirty-two, he changed many nations by introducing warfare tactics, Greek culture, and many ways of doing things throughout the world. Many people wonder: what would have happened if Alexander had not died, what other things would have changed in the world, what other borders would he have tried to conquer, would ALEXANDER 7 have brought his army into Western Europe like the Romans did, or would he have tried to create in China and other Asian lands besides India because of the experiences his army had already seen in India would take a different path. The unknown is about Alexander's short reign, so that's why we call him "Alexander the Great", because he had accomplished so much in a short amount of time that he was ruler of the ancient
