Many believe that they will live their lives knowing that they will never be targeted for stalking or stalking. Being stalked doesn't just mean that someone you don't know will do it, even friends or people you feel comfortable with could trick you and be the ones to do it. Stalkers can influence a person's life based on the actions the stalker may take, including based on the number of victims the stalker may have hurt in the past. Stalkers stalk every gender, no one is safe or preferred. Being mentally ill also has a big impact on why stalkers engage in such behavior. In today's society there is always someone who is targeted as a victim of a stalker, it may not be a large group but it is out there and exists. In today's community no one is safe from being targeted by a stalker, males and females become victims of this crime every day. Men may not be victims of this crime, but it still places a burden on those who are. Approximately 8,000 men nationwide have been victims of a stalker, narrowing it down to 2% of those who have been stalked at least once (Mechanic Mindy). Being the victim of a stalker means a lot of stress and precautions about how you live your life. Any wrong move could lead to intrusion into your personal life and possible injury. Being aware of your surroundings and your behavior will prepare you for what a stalker brings to the table. Stalkers are capable of doing anything from watching you from afar or breaking into your home and taking your belongings. 1 in 12 women and 1 in 45 men are victims of a stalker (the mechanic Mindy). It doesn't seem like a huge number, but it adds up because stalkers don't get stopped and continue to think what they're doing is ok. Four out of five s... half the paper... any day, it can be a friend or a complete stranger. The reality is that everyone should always be aware of their surroundings, even the people they may think are closest to them. Stalkers suffer from all kinds of problems stemming from substance abuse, depression, personality disorders, being ignored, abused, betrayed, emotionally hurt, all these reasons vary depending on why some humans choose to stalk a victim. Is there really a stalker out there stalking someone because of what they did to them in the past? Is there someone lurking in the shadows following the victim's every move and waiting for an opportunity to intrude? Stalking is a serious crime and is seen as an illness, either they should be treated or kept in an isolated area. People should know who they trust and know who they let into their lives before becoming victims of a crime as serious as stalking.
