The fact that the popular vote gives no power to whoever becomes president shows that only some people have power. This seems like a sign that our own government does not trust the people to make an informed decision about who should become president. The way the votes of smaller states are more important than those of larger states shows that the states do not yet have the same power. The way to win the presidency is more about strategy than having the ideas to get elected. An example of this is how the electoral college elected George Bush when Al Gore won the popular vote. George Bush is said to be one of the worst presidents of the United States and was elected through a system believed to be flawed. I also have a feeling that corruption plays a role in the electoral college versus the authenticity of the popular vote. I think this should be replaced with an electronic voting system that can accurately and clearly show who the majority of the population voted for. But I also think that some requirements for voting should be enacted. Education plays a big role in politics and I feel like there are people who just vote to vote without any kind of background knowledge. As bad as it sounds, I feel like it might narrow down a better decision to make than the smaller, less developed states that are "mind controlled" into voting for
