Topic > Faith and Spirituality in the Works of Taylor and Wheatley

In each poem, both Taylor and Wheatley constantly describe the nature they see around them. In Taylor's work, there are multiple examples of him describing certain aspects of the nature around him in a poetic manner as he describes rivers as green ribbons and stars as twinkling Lanthorns in the sky. The same could be said of Wheatley throughout his poetry. Wheatley consistently describes the nature he observed around him in almost every single line. He is seen describing to the reader how the sun sets on the horizon over the ocean or how the morning will shine with a somewhat rosy allure to them. By using a descriptive power like this, both Taylor and Wheatley are able to show their admiration for the works of their Creator in creating such a beautiful universe so that they can thrive.
