This is the life story of Audie Murphy. At the tender age of 12 she becomes the head of the family after her father abandons her. He joined the Army at the age of 18 and was decorated for valor nine times during the war, making him the most decorated combat soldier of World War II. Audie performs one of the bravest acts a soldier has ever performed during the war. He climbs aboard a burning tank destroyer and single-handedly stops the enemy from advancing towards his position. He spends nearly an hour on the destroyer until its ammunition is exhausted. A few seconds later, after getting off the tank destroyer, it explodes. For this action, Audie receives the Medal of Honor.PVT, AUS June 30 42PFC, AUS May 7 43CPL, AUS July 15 43SGT, AUS December 13 43S/SGT, AUS January 13 442d LT, AUS October 14 441st LT, AUS 16 February 451st LT, INF, ORC August 21 45CAPT, INF, TEX NG (Federal Recognition) July 14 50CAPT, INF, NGUS October 19 50MAJ, INF, TEX NG (Federal Recognition) February 14 56MAJ, INF, NGUS February 14 56MAJ, INF , USAR 8 Nov 66 SERVICE Audie L.
