The musical drama Footloose directed by Herbert Ross in 1984 and with a remake made by Craig Brewer in 2011. These enchanting films are based on true events in Bomont, Virginia Western United States of America. Both of these films represent rebellion, acceptance, death, relationship, lack of freedom and independence well acted and offer an insight into Bomont in 1979. The techniques used in these films are clothing, stereotypes, body language, camerawork. A common problem in Footloose is rebelliousness, the Bomont teenagers were not supposed to dance loudly or play any music other than sacred music, this proved rebellious. Footloose has numerous clips of rebels to draw attention and understand why these teenagers disobey the law in the town of Bomont. In Craig Brewer's 2011 film, a significant screen focusing on rebellion is when Ariel walks into the dress rehearsal of her father's church and says, "I'm not even a virgin anymore!" (Footloose 2011) this is a significant issue in the film for the preacher's daughter who goes behind her father's back, has sex and betrays his trust. Although Ariel became close to her father, had a black eye and a cut lip from the boy she slept with, this significant approach allows the film to portray abusive relationships at any age. These changes affected the viewer's response from the first to the second film, this is due to Ariel's speech attitude and expressions during this clip and how annoyed she was. The camera shot in the 2011 film the close-up shot, to make the viewer feel as if the relationship means something to both the daughter and the father. Although Footloose doesn't focus on the real issue behind the laws in the small town of Bomont, but...... middle of paper...... approach. Although Footloose was written about the true events that happened in Bomont during the recession, it still enlightens opinions with the main problem behind the remake of the film. According to the Sydney Morning Herald: “fight for what you believe in” (Schembri 2011), this issue is the main issue behind the creation of the film and the message behind footloose. This quote is supported by a scene from the film, which symbolizes the power you can have when you believe something is worth fighting for. This evidence is supported by a screenshot in which Ren talks to his aunt about changing the laws of Bomont, to create a prom, and states: "when my mother was sick, I do it. Even though the remake of the film Footloose of 2011 grossed $51,780." '537 and a budget of $24'000'000, this remake grossed less than $28'219'463 than the original film in 1984 with a budget of $8'200'000.
