Essay on the HolocaustOne of the greatest world events of the twentieth century was the Holocaust. This event was tragic and terrible for all Jews, living and dead. Between January 30, 1933 and May 8, 1945, over six million Jews were tortured and then killed without having a say. Having to live day by day with this terrifying experience hammered into their minds, some three million Jews were lucky enough to survive. your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them." -Deuteronomy 4:9 From the Holocaust we learn that feelings are important aspects of our daily lives. We must protect ourselves from all evils. Every man has natural evil within him. It is our duty as human beings to protect this evil. The Holocaust is an example of what could happen if that evil were unleashed. Man must be aware of his own evil and that of others. If, however, evil is left alone, it may become stronger and more powerful. A person is not judged by his surroundings, but by the wickedness of his enemies. Man must learn to tolerate and respect those who differ. To do this we must avoid discrimination. Jews were discriminated against because of their religious beliefs, appearance and knowledge. Intolerance leads to unwanted hatred and cruelty. Man must avoid not caring about the pain of others. When you avoid this action, you eradicate cruelty. Cruelty shows that someone is full of hate. Hatred has been the cause of the destruction of the world for Jews and other innocent victims. Hitler hated the Jews and therefore sought them as scapegoats. Even if Adolf Hitler... middle of paper... makes up and becomes a follower. If these acts are ignored, the world could change once again. Some resist the thought of believing what happened in those bygone years. Also, what it can become in the near future. For others, six million innocent lives had to be buried just for them to realize that evil exists and has potential. Overall we must always believe that even the worst can happen. Man should never give up his freedoms. I personally pray that all people, the world, become aware of our negativity before it gets out of control. Hate and violent crimes must be stopped. As we learned from the Holocaust, just someone's hatred is enough to commit a disaster. I also believe that for some, like Hitler, their opinion is the only one. In my opinion man is not born bad or good, he simply adapts to his society.
