In modern America there are many important issues that continue to divide our nation. Top issues include healthcare, rising national debt and the economy. These problems are commonly talked about and usually the general opinion is the same, the only thing that differs is the approach to achieving the common goal. Health care is generally considered a good thing and we need to get coverage to as many people as possible, the growing national debt is obviously considered a bad thing and we need to find a way to reduce it, and the economy is not strong right now and we need to find a way to improve it. This is common in most issues, however, one American issue tends to be extremely polarizing. Gun rights have become one of the most contentious issues facing the American public, and opinions vary greatly on the desired outcome and methods of achieving it. One end of the spectrum believes guns are too dangerous and wants heavy restrictions on their ownership.
