Mars, the planet once inhabited by the Doctor's ice warrior archenemy, is now on its way to becoming a safe haven for humans. Mars, the fourth planet away from the Sun, the second smallest planet in the solar system is known for its similarities to earth. Immigration to an alien planet is no longer a clichéd topic for science fiction, but has gradually become a serious scientific topic and project. Environmental problems stand out among the reasons for the wave of immigration to Mars. Just as Christian Parenti pointed out in his book Tropic of Chaos, the environmental problem, especially climate change, is happening faster than expected. The growing number of extreme weather events suggests that disruptive climate change is inevitable even if we begin to stop discharging greenhouse gases. Even as climate change collides with current political and economic problems, it forms a terrible set of disasters that Parenti called catastrophic convergence. Population growth, food security and shortages, water pollution, urbanization and land shortages all contribute to the catastrophic convergence. Parenti argues that these problems do not simply add up, but rather amplify each other, in a sense one problem expresses itself through another. In his book, Parenti suggests solving these problems through technological and political mitigation and adaptation. He argued that by transforming humanity's relationship with nature and itself, the environment changes even more fundamentally than catastrophic convergence. Instead of moving to Earth from time to time, future generations can solve the same urbanization and population problems by moving to Mars or other planets. Man's exploration of the universe will never stop. One of the outcomes of exploration would be to colonize other planets.
