From witches to apparitions, supernatural elements are the constituents of the play Macbeth. The supernatural events served as a manifestation of evil temptations that caused Macbeth to kill, even his own companions. Macbeth's first encounter with the supernatural was the ignition of his ambition to kill for his own success; the second encounter with the supernatural allowed his sanity and judgment to wander into the mind of a killer with the basis of his previously acquired ambition. Supernatural's third fatal encounter with Macbeth had left him with the unbearable mark of guilt and insecurity that forced him to act petrified during his banquet. The last encounter ultimately left Macbeth with the fleeting thought of killing his dear friend and family. From what has been stated, the supernatural played a major role in motivating Macbeth's action to the point that his morality was compromised and he succumbed to performing dark deeds. As the philosophical saying goes, everything must have a beginning. Above all, Macbeth's first contact with the supernatural, whose form was three witches, greeted him with great praise: “Hail, Macbeth! Hail to you, Lord of Cawdor! / Greetings to all, Macbeth, who from now on you will be king! [SIC]” (1.3.49-50). This prediction meant that Macbeth would become Thane of Cawdor and reign as king. Along with Macbeth's fortune, Banquo's prophecy was, "Thou shalt obtain kings, though thou be none" (1.3.67). At first, however, Macbeth was doubtful; he soon believed the witches' words after gaining recognition as the Thane of Cawdor. This activated the manifest ambition to ascend the throne at all costs to fulfill the witches' prophecy and gain power. Furthermore, Macbeth… at the center of the card… Macbeth's ambition was to do everything in his power to stay on top, even if it means killing innocent bystanders like Macduff's family. Overall, witches, apparitions and supernatural forms equally play the crucial role in Macbeth. In a visionary sense, the supernatural elements have transformed the hero of the play into a rogue man who sees nothing but a direct and clear path to power. Along this path are found supernatural forms that allow Macbeth to pass to power by succumbing to their dark wills by dangling power before him. From evil temptations, Macbeth was motivated to kill and performed the actions he had done to gain the most desired power. In his final thoughts, the supernatural motivated Macbeth to the point that his judgment clouded and he killed those who stood in his way to the throne, even ignoring the bond Macbeth had shared with his victims..
