President Barack Obama won the election by a landslide, but this former senator from Illinois was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, one of the best places in the world (Wikipedia, Honolulu). Hawaii is one of the best places and will be one of the best places to move to. I really should move to Hawaii instead of staying here in Illinois. One of the islands I would choose to move to is Oahu, whose nickname is “the gathering place” (City). I also would specifically prefer to live in Honolulu; I've been there before and absolutely loved being there. Honolulu is an absolutely fantastic place to live, has a fantastic selection of state parks around, and overall is ninety-nine percent better than Illinois (Kathie). The city of Honolulu is incredible, fantastic and adventurous to me. There is that percentage of Illinois that makes me prefer living there and it also has a bit of history. Although Illinois is a tragic place to live, its few qualities that make it a livable place to live and a somewhat unique history that should be expressed. Illinois itself was settled by French explorers in 1673 (Wikipedia, Illinois). Illinois remained French territory until it was conquered by the English at the end of the Seven Years' War (Wikipedia, Illinois). The Illinois area was explored around the date of 1973 (Wikipedia, Illinois). After being fully explored and settled, Illinois was allowed to become a state on the "date of eighteen". During the Civil War of the nineteenth century, southern Illinois would serve as a strategic supply point and root for the Northern Side.
