“The Life and Times of Walt Disney”Walt Disney is the greatest entrepreneur of all time in most of the minds of small and big people around the world. The reason is that he started his "business", selling sketches, at about the age of seven. He was a lively child, even considering he had painted the side of his stable with tar. For him, homework was boring, which he actually said once he was much older. Walt Disney was a family man, considering he had many children; his children also had many children. Walt Disney was a man of talent, character and imagination, who deeply loved fairy tales. Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Hermosa, Illinois. He was one of five children, four boys and a girl, born to Elias Disney and Flora Call Disney. His father was of Irish-Canadian descent and his mother was of German descent. Although he was born in Hermosa, he lived most of his childhood in Marceline, Missouri. When he was seven, instead of doing his homework as he should have, he sold sketches. Most of these sketches were images of animals and nature. At one time, his sister helped him paint the side of the barn with tar. Growing up, he fell in love with trains. At night he would lie in bed and listen to the trains go by, because he lived near a track. This is the reason for the trains that run around Walt Disney Land and Walt Disney World. As a teenager, he attended McKinley High School in Chicago, Illinois by day. At night he attended the Academy of Fine Arts. He also liked to imitate his hero, Charlie Chaplin, for his friends. In the fall of 1918, when Walt was only seventeen, he attempted to join the Army. He wanted to go... to the center of the paper... Isney World, animated feature films and Disney Channel on television. How many people watch and love all the things that Walt Disney managed to invent. What would you think if you could see how far your dreams have come? He would be proud because Walt Disney was an innovator working to make his dreams a reality. Works Cited Alef, Daniel.
