The criteria used to determine the effectiveness of leaders are the influence one has on others, the way you interact with people, your commitment and motivation, and the performance of individuals.That you guide . I agree with the idea that there is a difference between leadership and management because I am a leader. A leader is a person who has a positive influence on individuals. A manager is a position where you are responsible for duties and rules to follow the guild's lines. Not all managers are leaders. I worked as a manager at a phone company and I really wasn't any good at it. I think I got the position because of my ability to calm angry customers, explain politics, and close great deals within the company's means, but I didn't have the skills to lead the people I managed. The role that best identifies my Manager is the Leadership Role, she is a Principal of a middle school where a school district is considered at risk. Even though she holds a managerial position, she is also a leader, and I think you have to be a bit of both to do the work she does on a daily basis, I wouldn't want to trade with her. She is forced to delegate the project once a month and every time she gives us that project/assignment that she is responsible for, she actually does research with us and believes in herself. She is a strong motivator and positive role model, always encouraging us to the point of making us believe our department is the best, rather than achieving that goal or not. He has a very compassionate heart and is so humble even when he has to present bad news. He is a team player and loves team spirit, paints his face, wears silly hats and/or... middle of paper.... .. Our board is made up of nine members who all live in this great city. The focus is our students and parents: they are the number one priority. However, the question asked is that they are all leaders. Well, let me tell you, in my opinion, why they aren't. I have been working for this school district for eleven years as of March and we have had nine superintendents, three high school principals and two human resources directors. If their interest is the student, why are we, staff of 7 schools, unhappy and unmotivated? The school district is an at-risk school district and I think incompetent people are in charge of the school, as are the leaders, not in my opinion. However, what I believe is that if an organization is successful, it is due to effective leadership, but it is difficult to measure when you have exceptional staff.
