Topic > Application Essay for Dietetics Internship Program

The most meaningful experience I had in my life was coming to the United States without speaking much English, going to school, and getting my degree. Living in a foreign country and going to school was very challenging, especially when I was a self-sufficient student, working and attending classes at the same time. I succeeded thanks to my motivation, discipline and flexibility, as well as the emotional support of family and friends. During my experience living in the United States, I learned important aspects of life, expanded my understanding and respect for other cultures, and matured a lot as a person, something I could never have accomplished if I had stayed in Japan. I have also met great friends and mentors who always support and encourage my professional and personal developments. My challenge is still ongoing and my next step is to pursue my career goals at UH. I know it will be a tough but invaluable experience. After having the opportunity to meet you and the interns, I became very interested in pursuing a position offered at the University of Houston (UH). I am confident that it will enable me to complete the American Dietetic Association requirements to become a Registered Dietitian (RD) and provide me with a wide variety of hands-on experiences and the valuable educational training I need to succeed in my career goals . I believe this internship is the best fit for what I am looking for in an internship on a professional, personal and financial level. Over the past six years, I have been committed to gaining work experience in the dietetic field, whether paid or volunteering, alongside my academic course work. I've been doing community work... mid-paper... for over ten years, but I've never had the chance to live on the South Coast. It would be a meaningful experience for me to better understand the culture, academic and medical trends of the United States if given the opportunity. I feel that I am well prepared to participate in the VT Dietetic internship due to my work experience, ability to support myself financially, and success in academic courses. I am confident that with my positive attitude, professionalism and motivation, I will be able to interact well with your preceptors and show them the respect they deserve. Thanks to the enormous resources this internship can offer me professionally, personally and financially, I truly believe this internship is the right choice for me. If given the opportunity, I am highly motivated to successfully complete the internship program and achieve my goal of becoming an RD.
