What's wrong with America? This is a nation built on the success of children and future generations. How can we tell when thousands of children are still in foster care today? To address this problem, states must realize that homosexual adoption represents a great opportunity, not only providing a home for children, but also allowing them to experience the lifestyle offered by homosexual patents. Furthermore, the government must realize that religion should not play a role in determining whether or not gays can adopt as a couple. People always say they have feelings for children and wish they could help them. Well, here's this opportunity! These children need a loving home, and if a gay or lesbian couple can provide it, why not let them? I agree that religion plays an important role in everyday life, but that alone does not provide security for those in foster care like a family would. The government needs to think about love and education, legalization and the similarities that outweigh the negatives in same-sex couples. Words like love and education are used in everyday life. As stated by Ellen C. Perrin and the American Academy of Pediatrics, "Children can satisfy people's desires to provide and accept love and nurturing from others and can provide some security and support in their old age" (Perrin and AAP ). Parents of both sexualities understand a common goal, grown children need care. Children with homosexual parents receive the same love as children of heterosexual parents. Oppressors claim that children will live horrible lives if raised in a homosexual environment. The fact is this, not all homosexual families face the same disapproval from those around them, and the same goes for heterosexual families...middle of paper...because doesn't the Bible state that, two of the same sex can coexist. He claims that we should love one another, but like most arguments, some Bible verses are set aside to fit the position being argued. As I believe that the anti-gay opposition addresses the religious and normal difficulties that anyone can face on a daily basis. Since there is no accurate data on the harms of raising same-sex children, be happy that the children go to a good home. Culture should also step aside. America is called a melting pot for a reason: No matter where we come from, we all learn to start with the diversity of others. It is shameful that America only comes together fully if tragic events such as 9/11, post-Katrina New Orleans, or world wars occur. All mutual opposition should be reduced and America would once again become the strong nation it once was..
