1.0 Introduction In this modern era, the rapid growth of science and technology has led to the creation of many useful tools for society. Computers are now widely used by people of all stages of life, and more people are becoming literate than ten years ago. This is because computers are now so convenient that with a simple click of the mouse we can get almost any information we need. Now most homes in the world, especially in developed countries, are equipped with at least one computer. This further proves the fact that computers are becoming an important part of life today. Both government and private sectors use computers in various fields, but especially in education. Since the colonization of English in Tanah Melayu about 100 years ago, the English language has been taught in Malaysia. The teaching method has changed only slightly over the years because the main variation in teaching English is mainly the curriculum and not the teaching tools used. in teaching the language itself. This is because most of the school teachers are not competent in using computers to teach the English language because the training courses for this are not many and many still prefer to use the traditional method to teach the language. However, lately the Ministry of Education in Malaysia has implemented projects that make ICT in the classroom a teaching and learning tool. This is because recently the standard of the English language has declined and the proficiency of the language among students has also been questioned. Therefore the Ministry of Education hopes that through the introduction of the computer as a tool in an English language classroom, the approach to teaching and learning can be changed by making it uniform... middle of paper... consider one of the nation who does not read much.5.2 Improve pronunciation task using computer software English is a second language in Malaysia and often the English we speak may differ from that of the native speaker due to the influence of our native language . Therefore, by doing such activity, you can improve your pronunciation in class and English proficiency among Malaysians will be better. 6.0 Conclusion Although CALL was in this world a long time ago, yet it seems that CALL practices are only a handful compared to the conventional English teaching method. In Malaysia, in particular, the Minister of Education should accept that technology is the way forward and accept the current norm of using computers, especially in the education sector. To summarize, CALL has not yet fully established itself in Malaysia's education system and it is hoped that one day it will.
