Topic > Retreat to Victory Analysis - 1057

examines the hypothetical answer to how the Confederacy could have won the Civil War. By looking at the geography of the southern half of the United States, the slaves, and the generals of the Confederacy, Tanner is able to show through historical evidence and examples why a Fabian strategy could not have given the Confederacy the victory it desired. Although Tanner's thesis seems unorthodox because the author does not introduce new and revolutionary ideas about how the Confederacy could have won the war, Tanner's analysis is well done because the author allows the reader to surmise what could have changed the history of the United States and at the same time show the public why the case presented cannot be addressed
