Negative rates are simply too high to ignore. Daily problems occur mainly due to the lack of fathers, and many people are killed, raped and drop out of school. To many people, looking inside, this may seem like a small problem, but in the eyes of the child it is truly a game changer. This ends up contributing to the child doing something with their life or being more likely to fall into the negative statistical groups listed above. Depression is more than likely. I experience this myself sometimes, so I can honestly say it's true for me and I believe it 100%. Society should care about children who grow up without a father because who knows if that child next door or in your community could become a problem for the area you are in and make it dangerous for you and your family. You can see how this can become a bigger problem for society as a whole if we don't pay attention to others. Just because it isn't happening in your home or family doesn't mean it will never affect you. That said, we as a society are doing a better job of responding to this problem. Programs such as Boys and Girls Club, My Brother's Keeper, and Big Brothers Big Sisters seek to fill this gap in our society, particularly among fatherless boys (Joiner, 2016). From my experience, these programs/people build relationships and care about what is going on with the child
