The fact is that he didn't, he used what had been developed and studied in the automotive industry to develop his own ideas and revolutionize the automotive industry. His creativity allowed him to develop the assembly line that started automobile production.Henry FordHenry Ford was born near Dearborn, Michigan, on July 30, 1863. His family had nothing to do with the automobile, they were simple farmers. Henry lived on the farm run by his Irish father and Dutch mother. His mother died when he was 12 years old. He worked steadily at the Edison Illuminating Company and became chief engineer there. In 1884 he took charge of a farm given to him by his father. At twenty-four he married Clara Bryant and settled on his farm. During hearings before the National Labor Board, Ford was found guilty of repeated violations of the National Labor Relations Act. Ford was forced to negotiate a labor contract with a union after a successful strike at the main plant in River Rouge, Michigan, in April 1941. During World War II Ford obtained government contracts for which it produced war materials such as: parts for bombers and, later, the entire aircraft. By the end of World War II (1945) one of its factories was producing more than 8,000 aircraft. Henry Ford died on April 7, 1947 in Dearborn. Ford left a personal fortune of between $500 and $700 million, donating much of the money to the Ford Foundation, a nonprofit organization.
