The issue I have chosen to deal with is euthanasia. Euthanasia is defined by the Oxford dictionary as "the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma". Euthanasia causes much debate around the world and in most countries, such as Australia, it is illegal. Euthanasia is seen by many people as assisted suicide, or for some religions, such as Christianity, to believe that life is a gift from God. The processes of death should therefore not be disturbed and no human being has the authority to taking the life of an innocent person, even if it is their choice to leave. However there are some people who don't see it that way. They choose to see euthanasia as the choice of those who are considering taking such actions. They believe we should have the right to our bodies, and if you are forced to live longer than you choose it is a disregard of personal freedom. Legalizing euthanasia is a slippery slope, and many argue that it should not be legalized. Like most people, religions also have very strong opinions on euthanasia....
