He is an author and military historian. Eisenhower's other works include The Bitter Woods, published in 1987 and critically acclaimed by Life magazine author SLA Marshall as "powerfully written by a true military historian." Reviews of his work in The New Yorker and The New York Times Book Review describe his accounts as "Exceptionally interesting" and "Written with an enthusiasm that is difficult to resist."
