America so often aligns itself with that of a godly nation; therefore the founding fathers of the nations were “Christians”. In general, this “Christianity” that America is attached to is nothing more than a man-made religious activity that has lost its foundation. According to federal government statistics, 78% of Americans believe in God and say they are “Christian”; yet Christians currently have less influence than at any time in this nation's history. Since the majority of Americans profess Christ as their Lord and Savior, the almighty God, creator of heaven and earth, who is above all, in all and through all, where is the evidence of Him? The Gospel of the Bible has been stripped away and crudely applied to the American Dream, which completely contradicts Jesus: “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). As America heads toward destruction at an unprecedented rate, one can only wonder how this happened. At an increasing rate the infrastructure of the United States is crumbling morally, economically and spiritually. It is an inevitable fate that history continually repeats. Assessed with its predecessors, the United States shares all the characteristics of a global empire and is in the final stage before its fall from world power. One of the last signs of the collapse of these empires occurs with the decay of religion (Stone, 54). Often people complain about current situations and wish things would go back to the way they were in the "good old days", when in fact there never was such a thing! Presidential candidates, senators, representatives, even mayors and city councilors promise to bring local and national levels of government back to... middle of paper... heb.
