Today, social media has become a primary component of our spirit. Mariam Webster Dictionary defines social media as “forms of electronic communication (such as websites for social networking and micro blogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content” (merriam-webster. com, May 18-2014). The entire human population is connected to the net with the help of blogging sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. It is very rare to find a person alienated from the internet, as this modern application of technology connects everyone with the internet. mouse click. It is the new generation of the socialization method. Social media websites bridge the gap between different nationalities, cultures and mentalities in general and are used for academic and business reasons nowadays. Firstly, social media helps increase your knowledge; some people use social media for learning and academic reasons. Since the beginning of the 21st century, most universities around the world have created the concept of online learning that depends on a special social network. According to the essay “Virtual University” (2002) by Conaway Carrie, the author describes how the education system has developed from the creation of social media to today. Students can access their courses online, submit assignments and take class notes through an academic social network provided by universities. For example, some universities use Blackboard to post questions, assignments, sample exams, and handouts for their courses.
