Cuba, Cuba, Cuba! From grassy plains to rolling hills, from steep mountain slopes to calm beach waters, Cuba is truly one of the most fascinating places in the world. From the capital city of Havana, to less populated areas like Guise, Cuba is considered an incredibly beautiful place. However, behind all this beauty, there is a world of history and culture. Indeed, located in the Caribbean, Cuba offers an incredible blend of rich history, interesting geography and unique culture. Geography Located just over 90 miles from the tip of Florida (Nation Facts), Cuba is home to a wide range of interesting geography. Cuba borders only the North Atlantic Ocean to the north and the Caribbean Sea to the south (Central Intelligence Agency), which classifies it as an island country. At just under 42,500 square miles, Cuba is the 105th largest country in the world (Nation Facts). This makes Cuba the smallest country, as there are 196 countries in the world. Furthermore, similar to many other countries in the area, Cuba has a rainy season and a dry season (Central Intelligence Agency). In addition to its unique geography, Cuba is also home to a world of interesting culture. History and Culture Shaped by dance, time, education and literature, Cuba is very rich in culture. Cuba's official language is Spanish (Nation Facts) and its national anthem is "La Bayamesa," which translates to "The Song of Bayamo" (Central Intelligence Agency). Cuba also has no official religion, although Roman Catholicism is widely practiced (Facts about the nation). Dance is also a key piece in Cuba's culture (Nation Facts).
