The word abortion means the induced removal of a fetus from the uterus before it is able to survive independently. Abortions are legal, as they have been for many years, but they are very immoral. Women believe there are many reasons to have an abortion, such as rape, fear of raising a child, or not having enough money to care for a child. Whatever the situation, there is never a valid reason to have an abortion. Some important reasons why women should not have abortions have to do with conscience values, human morality and even health issues. The first reason why women should not terminate their pregnancy is related to their conscience. Many women have lifelong regrets after having the procedure completed. When a woman has an abortion, she will always think of the child she could have had. This thought will remain in the back of the mother's head. Some things, such as walking by a park with children playing, seeing baby clothes in a department store, or when a friend or loved one has recently had a child, can trigger this thought. “Some women repress feelings for a time and initially report feeling “relieved” – but sooner or later consequences emerge in a number of areas of her life” (Kaufman, 2006). She will always think about the future that could have happened with her baby, which will remind her that she did not give the baby the opportunity to live. Besides her conscience, another reason why a woman should not have an abortion is due to human morality. Abortion is an extremely notorious issue because while some people are completely against it, others believe that a woman should have the right to choose. “Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person. Therefore, human life is kept... middle of paper... when there are other viable solutions. Abortion should not be used as another form of contraception. Works CitedAbort73.com. (2010).
