As a traditional American sport, football appears to have a dangerous influence on young people by causing physical and mental restrictions. In today's society, preventative measures no longer seem to be a priority, focusing more on players and their MVP status. What worries people are possible concussions related to football itself, and strategies to overcome this burden could excel by educating high school students on safety measures and imposing a regulatory guideline on students who have suffered head injuries. As serious as they may seem, concussions are not only serious for players, but can also cause long-term effects. According to Solotoraff, “New science on concussions proves that high school football is the most dangerous game in America (par.1). The reason coaches interfere in football is due to the fact that approximately sixty-two thousand head injuries occur in high schools every year. In this sport, it is extremely challenging because the player looks and counters with lack of control. The author states: "The first stage of the disease is asymptomatic or characterized by slight losses of attention" (Solotoraff, par. 4). An athlete who suffers an accidental injury for the first time may not realize that they have suffered one. American football, notoriously known to be associated with mild brain injuries, will later "lead to long-term neurological damage," according to Sporting and Athletic Goods Manufacturing. With high school football, these kids are nearly twice as likely to suffer a concussion, making it still questionable whether chronic damage can lead to brain disease. Leaving aside the player's concern, one point that continues to be of concern is the principles among athletes who refuse to face themselves in the event of a concussion. The author... halfway down the paper... was taught about concussions. According to Covassin, “As the number of laws and policies on this topic continues to grow, there is a need to educate coaches on this important issue” (para. 5). A big step forward would help manage safe changes in the world of football and, by putting in place a regulatory safety framework, prevent such injuries. As we all know, there are disadvantages and advantages to football, which make it an overall physically dangerous sport on the pitch. . All players can expect are preventative measures that will hopefully support and regulate strict guidelines to create a safer environment for athletes. As a serious sport, these strategies will surely overcome the long-term effects of concussions. People don't realize it, but concussions are serious injuries that should be taken seriously, especially in the game of football.
